SPEA hosted a delegation of over 50representatives from the 31 European regions that are part of the ESRA(European Semiconductor Regions Alliance). The visit highlighted Piedmont’s key role in the European semiconductor landscape as the region isset to assume the presidency of ESRA.

With a solid industrial tradition and internationally recognized technological advancement, Piedmont is positioned to be at the center of European efforts to strengthen its semiconductor supply chain and technological sovereignty in 2025.

The delegation’s visit to SPEA underscored the company’s significant contribution to the Piedmontese semiconductor ecosystem. Production testing equipment plays a crucial role in the industry, verifying the quality and reliability of produced microchips. For Europe, strengthening its independence in microchip production means investing not only in machinery and plants for chip production itself but also in testing technologies, an often underestimated but strategic sector.

ESRA aims to empower European regions inshaping continental semiconductor policies, as outlined in the European ChipsAct. By joining forces, these regions aim to strengthen Europe’s technological independence, stimulate economic growth, and createnew job opportunities.
